Hi. My name is Darlene and I wanted to welcome everyone to my blog. I am a non-traditional student at SUNY Cortland majoring in Adolescent Education/English. I am technically a junior, although my foreign language requirement may make my graduation timetable difficult.

I am new to this arena of technology, and I find it intimidating. All of my more "youthful" classmates have a real leg up on me when it comes to technology. I must admit, however, I am excited by the prospects this technology class presents. I think I am the only person in this class without an ipod. It's scary for me to know my children know so much about technology and I know so little. I have a great deal of catching up to do, and I can't wait to get started.

I can't wait to hear from everyone, and I certainly can use everyone's help and encouragement in my quest for more technologically advanced knowledge and skills.

Hey Darlene,

Technology updates itself so fast that I feel so lost in it sometimes too! I can't even imagine how behind I will be when I have kids. They will surpass me, and so forth!

Ipods are even a bit frightening at first. They are quite a challenge. I wonder if they'll be replaced in a few years too. Do you think they will? Everything ends up replacing other things for newer, more techier stuff... I just wonder if Ipods are among those things.

Anyway, the blog looks great so far!

Believe me your not the only without an ipod in class. I've actually seen them and know what they look like, but that's about it!

I too am relatively new to this arena. I'm familiar with a few things, but not many. I am also a non-traditional student with a daughter in college at Hawaii Pacific University, so if you ever need someone to talk to I'd be more than happy to talk!

As for the foreign language requirement if your having any trouble what-so-ever with fulfilling that then I have a story to tell you about my experience with it! Let's just suffice it to say that I have learned since taking courses here at Cortland that I have what is called a foreign language/math LD. It certainly makes things a bit interesting.

Your blog looks great so far. I think it will be interesting and fun to watch all the blogs unfold, develop and take on new identities as we all learn new skills.
