Internet Access on School Buses

Check out this article. Is this really another chance for students to learn, or is it putting more stress on kids? What does everyone think?

I know some kids from when I was in school who rode the bus in excess of one hour both to and from school. Why not put the time to good use? Don't "adult" commuters do it all the time? I think it's a good idea. Lots of kids own laptops. I just hope they won't leave their work for the last minute thinking "I'll do it on the way to school".

I saw this Barb...just one more indicator of the influence of the ubiquity of "access" in a wired world.

I think the next couple of decades are going to bring such rapid change we can't even imagine how learning is going to look.

Forgive me, I wrote Barb...have no clue why. Must have been linking you two in my mind. Early a.m.--what can I say?

I would have loved having this feature available for my long bus rides. However, I'm not sure if students would use it for educational use. I would guess that most people would use it for e-mail, IM, games, or YouTube.

It may help with behvior management though!!
